Goa Maria Sendang Sriningsih
Sendang Sriningsih was originally named Sendang Duren and was discovered in 1934 by a priest assigned to Jali hamlet. He was Father Damianus Hardjosuwondo, SJ. When visiting the location, Father Damianus Hardjosuwondo, SJ experienced a spiritual attraction. Therefore, it was built as a place of pilgrimage for Catholics which later became known as Sendang Sriningsih. This name is taken not without meaning or meaning, Sendang Sriningsih means “the intermediary of God’s grace to his people”

Goa Maria Sendang Jatiningsih
Gua Maria Jatiningsih or also commonly referred to as Sendang Jatiningsih is one of the places of worship and pilgrimage of Catholics in the Moyudan area, Sleman. Before it was built into Gua Maria, this place was called Sendang Pusung. Pusung itself stands for the Javanese sentence “sing ngapusi busung” which means whoever lies will be hit by a plague. Then the name was changed to Sendang Jatiningsih which means the source of water from God’s grace that brings peace. Gua Maria Sendang Jatiningsih is located 17 km west of Yogyakarta City, precisely in Jitar Hamlet, Sumber Arum Village, Moyudan District, Sleman Regency.
As mentioned earlier, Sendang Jatiningsih Marian Cave was built right on the edge of the Progo River. This makes the Sendang Jatiningsih area cool and fresh.
