Located centrally in Bali’s cultural Gianyar Regency, the Bali Zoo is within close proximity to the tourist areas of Kuta, Sanur, Seminyak and Nusa Dua and is only 15 minutes drive from Ubud. It is an art-village as the home of well known Balinese artists. Bali Zoo can be easily reached, it is close to Denpasar capital city and the other popular tourist activity centres such as Kuta, Sanur, Nusa Dua and Ubud. It takes about 20 minutes from Denpasar or 45 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport. The island’s only Balinese-owned private zoo opened in 2002 as the first and only dedicated zoological park, which still holds true today. Bali Zoo is situated on 22 acres of lush landscape in the art village of Singapadu and is the home to a diverse collection of more than 350 exotic animals. A majority of which are indigenous to Indonesia, including rare and endangered species such as the Sumatran Elephant, Sumatran Tiger, Orangutan, Sun Bear and Binturong. The animals reside in hundreds of quality built eco-habitats and are well cared by the friendly staff. Bali Zoo offers a number of unique and one-of-a kind experiences during your visit.
